What Are Cleanings?

For starters, dental cleanings are the best procedure to reduce your chances for gum disease by removing all plaque and tartar. It is a professional form of cleaning that cleans all areas of your mouth that you cannot complete at home.

Benefits

In addition, there are plenty of benefits after your dental cleaning including:

Exam

Moreover, we will examine your mouth and teeth by performing a thorough examination. The goal is to identify any signs of inflammation before the procedure begins.

Treatment

Furthermore, a scaling instrument is used to remove all plaque and tartar. Plaque is a sticky substance that contains hundreds of bacteria found along your gum line and teeth. If plaque is left untreated, it hardens on your enamel creating tartar. Afterward, a high-powered electric toothbrush is used to clean and polish your teeth. The toothpaste has a gritty consistency to remove remaining plaque on your teeth. If there are food particles, professional flossing is utilized for those hard-to-reach areas.
